What kinds of assistance can the MSIAC Help Desk provide me?
The MSIAC Help Desk can provide selected members of the M&S community
(government civilians, DoD government sponsored contractors, military service members) with up to four free hours of funded research for your inquiry. All other members of the M&S community receive up to two hours of research.
How can the DoD Modeling and Simulation Resource Repository (MSRR) help me?
The DoD MSRR is presently an electronic card catalogue of M&S tools, documents, papers and other initiative summaries. You do not have to be a registered user to search this database, although being a registered user provides more access privileges. The MSRR contains M&S resources that have been placed there by a member of the M&S community or the MSIAC staff. Nothing in the MSRR is listed automatically—a human is always in the loop. Additional information on the MSRR and how to register can be obtained from the MSIAC Help Desk.
If I have a really large task to perform and would like to use the MSIAC contract, how do I do that?
The MSIAC contract can be used for almost any M&S related task by any organization within the M&S community. Specific details on Technical Area Tasks (TATs) can best be obtained from the TAT Coordinator or see the TATs section on our web site.
I need to get started on a large M&S related task right away and I only have limited funds available to start the project. Can the MSIAC help me get started until my projected funding becomes available?
Yes, the MSIAC can help you initiate a "subscription account", which will help you get work started now rather than waiting to be fully funded. The subscription account is like a "checkbook" that can fund your statement of work, either for the life of the project or until you decide to initiate a TAT.
How can I get an M&S-related technical paper published?
The editor of the MSIAC Journal is always looking for technically sound, M&S-related papers that could be published in our quarterly publication. We are also looking for DoD M&S papers that talk about how M&S technology was developed or utilized to support a DoD program. Additional information can be obtained from the MSIAC Help Desk.
