The Modeling and Simulation Information Analysis Center (MSIAC) is the Department of Defense’s integrated support activity dedicated to helping both developers and users of modeling and simulation. MSIAC is a Department of Defense Information Analysis Center, sponsored by the Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC). Our mission is to access, acquire, collect, analyze, synthesize, generate, and disseminate scientific, technical, and operational support information in the area.

We can assist DoD components/offices, other Government agencies, academia, Government contractors, and U.S. industry as authorized, in the analysis and dissemination of information within the DoD modeling and simulation areas.
We can promote the exchange of technical information within the MSIAC subject areas throughout DoD’s research, development and acquisition communities.
We can provide timely answers to technical inquiries from all segments of the Department of Defense (DoD). We can prepare state of the art of reports and technology assessments on any subject of interest or concern to the DoD M&S community, with the aim of facilitating information exchange amongst all DoD elements that require M&S support.
The MSIAC is staffed with subject-matter experts to provide users with focused, expert assistance and unbiased scientific, technical, and operational support information.
The MSIAC can:
- Verify and validate the technical accuracy and reliability of existing data.
- Generate and evaluate data collection and analysis techniques reported in literature.
- Develop alternative approaches to collection and/or analysis of the same or similar forms of information related to assigned technical areas.

The MSIAC provides up to four hours of service free of charge to DoD customers. All other customers receive up to two hours of service free. When the requestor agrees to pay for the service, the MSIAC can provide up to 80 hours to answer technical inquiries.
